Salesforce response to ‘Spectre’ and ‘Meltdown’ Vulnerabilities

 

  • Salesforce is aware of recently reported security vulnerabilities ‘Spectre’ and “Meltdown,’ which are affecting a wide range of computer processors.
  • As is the case for many other companies, Salesforce’s infrastructure uses operating systems that are impacted by these vulnerabilities.

The first thing to note is that the potential of being affected by this problem is NOT exclusively directed towards Microsoft Windows XP. All versions of Microsoft Windows have the potential of being subject to this problem. This issue is not a typical virus infection which can be relatively cleaned up or disinfected. This type of problem may not be detected by your anti-virus software, even if is up-to-date.
